About Us
Kia ora koutou - haere mai to our Musselburgh School website. Musselburgh School is a fantastic community of students, whānau and teaching staff. We promote the hauora of our students as we believe healthy mental wellbeing promotes academic progress. The students here feel happy and secure while experiencing excellent practices in teaching and learning.
We have a staff of twenty, comprising of the Principal, seven Classroom Teachers, three part-time Teachers, six Teacher Aides, a Learning Support Coordinator, an Office Manager and a part time Caretaker.
Our programmes are diverse and inclusive of all our learners. There are a number of special needs programmes, PMP (Perceptual Motor Programme), Play is the Way, Enviroschools, a choir, a marimba band, a variety of school sports, EOTC (Education Outside the Classroom) and we are a school that uses a Play Based Learning approach. The school is part of a STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Maths) Cluster which provides exciting and authentic learning contexts for the students.
